“We are excited to further showcase the Multiphze Enclosed Bladder Irrigation System with Vizient clients,” said Albert Mikhail, CEO of Multiphze. “The Multiphze Enclosed Bladder System is a game changer for medical professionals that treat adult hematuria patients. We look forward to demonstrating its unique capabilities and the clinical and economic benefits it offers with Vizient clients.“
The Multiphze Enclosed Bladder Irrigation System is the only OSHA compliant solution on the market designed for medical professionals treating hematuria that offers a novel method for irrigating the bladder. It is designed to reduce the risks and costs associated with biohazard exposure & contamination of today’s methods, while delivering improved procedural efficiencies for manual bladder irrigations. The system features a unique rotatable syringe with independent ports used to manage the flow of fluids which eliminates the need to repeatedly disengage from the urinary catheter during the procedure. An animal study conducted at the University of California Irvine found that the Multiphze system reduced bladder irrigation time by more than half compared to today’s standard methods. In addition, the system provides a safer environment for the medical staff and patients by eliminating the splashing, spraying, and spilling of bloody urine, which are common with conventional methods.
“After a review of the Multiphze Enclosed Bladder Irrigation System, Vizient’s client-led council agreed this technology offers a unique benefit over other products available in the market today and recommended it for an Innovative Technology contract. We are pleased to award this new contract to Multiphze,” said Kelly Flaharty, associate vice president, contract operations for Vizient.
Vizient represents a diverse client base that includes academic medical centers, pediatric facilities, community hospitals, integrated health delivery networks and non-acute healthcare providers and has a portfolio that represents more than $156 billion in annual purchasing volume. Through its Innovative Technology Program, Vizient works with client-led councils and task forces to evaluate products for their potential to bring real innovation to healthcare. If it is determined that a product is innovative, Vizient may award a contract outside of the competitive bid cycle.
